Travelling with handicap
Approach
Car:
Melchsee-Frutt is accessible by the road Stöckalp – Melchsee-Frutt. With a valid disability card it may be driven into the village to lead up physically disabled people to the property. The car must be parked on an official car park or have to be returned within an hour to the parking lot Dempfelsmatt. An authorization to continue to Tannalp for a person who is confined to a wheelchair costs CHF 16.- for a day or CHF 55.- for the whole summer season. With a valid IV-passport the parking fee on Melchsee-Frutt is refunded. The exit ticket can be obtained from the office guest info Melchsee-Frutt.
Public transportation:
The post buses between Sarnen and Stöckalp are wheelchair accessible. It can be transported one to two wheelchairs. Reservations 48 hours in advance are necessary (0900 300 300). Informations about the trains to and from Sarnen you get from the SBB.
Lifts at Melchsee-Frutt
Our lifts are wheelchair accessible. Access roads to the aerial cableway Distelboden – Bonistock are accessible by wheelchair. (Partly steep gravel trails). The Fruttli train is only suitable for those people who can get out of the wheelchair with help and can sit on a bench. The wheelchair will be transported separately. Ticket: The card from the SBB for travelers with a disability or equivalent statements from abroad, are valid on Melchsee-Frutt and can be combined with a half-fare card or GA.
Activities
Hiking-/walking path:
The pathway Melchsee-Frutt to Tannalp is a wheelchair trail from the difficulty class mild to moderate. The beautiful
walk on the plateau has no exposed areas. The path to the Tannensee is also feasible with a Swisstrac or guardian. Fireplaces: The fireplace old mountain station, Vogelbühl, Strandgut and Tannensee are accessible by wheelchair.
Fishing:
The chapel as well as the Strandbad are accessible by wheelchair. In this two places can be fished. Because of security we recommend a companion.
Sportcamp:
The team of Sportcamp Melchtal with its numerous leisure activities also addresses the needs of guests with disabilities.
