If you arrive by car

Take the highway to Lucerne (A2) and leave the A2 at the Lopper junction and proceed to the A8, Interlaken, Sarnen. From Sarnen follow the cantonal road to Kerns, Melchtal, Stöckalp.

By post bus

Take the train to Sarnen, where, at the station, you catch the post bus to Kerns. From there you travel through the beautiful Melchtal valley to Stöckalp and stop right by the cable car valley station.

By air

The Stöckalp valley station is approx. 2 hours from the Zurich-Kloten airport. The trains between Zurich and Lucerne run every half hour.

Mountain road Summer

You may drive uphill on the Stöckalp – Melchsee-Frutt mountain road on even hours (e.g. 8 am – 8:40 am) and downhill from Melchsee-Frutt on odd hours (e.g. 11 am – 11:40 am).

Light motor vehicles with and without trailers up to 9 seats (incl. driver’s seat); caravans/campers are not permitted.

A fee is charged for using the parking lot at Melchsee-Frutt (CHF 16.-).
